Leep has the knowledge and expertise to own and operate de-centralised energy plants and district heat networks and is interested in opportunities to expand its portfolio through the purchase of new and existing networks.
Operating since 2010, Leep have significant experience in the on-going management of a low carbon, de-centralised energy centre, providing power, heating, hot water and cooling to 400 domestic and 80 commercial customers at MediaCityUK, a high-profile development based in Salford, Greater Manchester, and the first of its kind in the UK. A brand-new city entirely devoted to the media industry and its workers, the area is home to industry leaders including the BBC and ITV.
MediaCityUK received the first ever BREEAM award for a sustainable development, an achievement which was influenced in part by the “Tri Generation” utility provision, which is owned and operated by a subsidiary of Leep Utilities. The Tri Generation energy centre has a highly efficient CHP plant to deliver power, hot water and heating, typically 50% more efficient than conventional power and heat generation achieve separately.
