Meet The Team

In the next installment of our Meet the Team series, we converse with Vicky Bell, our Regulations and Compliance Manager.

My name is…

Vicky Bell, Regulations and Compliance Manager.

I’m responsible for…

My role revolves around protecting our customers, clients and business, by mitigating or reducing any forecasted impacts or risks. This includes monitoring compliance to our regulated obligations, assessing the implications of any change proposals, change programmes or consultations and facilitating our risk register.

My typical day…

My typical day is quite reactive, responding to a lot of questions and enquiries regarding our regulated obligations from various areas of the business. I spend a lot of time reading and assessing consultations and change proposals, plus responding to any inbound business requests for information.

Proactively, the team is tasked with monitoring our overall compliance to our license conditions and industry obligations, which is conducted through business discussions, reviewing core processes, and auditing key areas of focus. We are a small but focused team, working together closely to ensure all priority areas are delivered in an effective and efficient manner.

The best part of my job…

The variety of my work means that no two days are ever the same, bringing new opportunities to learn. I also enjoy working closely with my team, as well as various teams across our business and external contacts throughout the industry.

If I could share one piece of advice…

Work to live, don’t live to work. Find something that makes you happy and that provides job satisfaction without needing to make uncomfortable compromises in other areas of your life.

When I’m not working, I’m…

Normally running around after my two children as a ‘Taxi Mum’ - although, not so much during lockdown. I’ve more recently had the opportunity for some ‘me time’ for the first time in over 17 years. Outside of homeschooling, I’ve been enjoying watching movies, listening to music and reading books.
